Safety
Safety on Our Desert Tours
The dunes are fun, and they deserve respect. Here is how we keep every ride safe, and what we ask from you.

What we do
- A safety briefing and a practice lap before every quad ride
- Helmets, goggles and scarves for every rider; safety harnesses in buggies
- A local guide always rides in front of the group
- Every quad and buggy is checked before each ride
- Routes adapted to your level, the weather and the light
- Bottled water on every tour
Heat and weather
AAA notes that from June to September, midday temperatures in Merzouga often reach about 46°C. In those months, we only ride early in the morning or late in the afternoon. If there is a strong sandstorm, we move your tour to another time or give you a full refund.
What we ask from you
- Follow your guide and keep a safe distance
- Wear closed shoes and long trousers
- Tell us about any health problem or pregnancy
- No alcohol before riding
- Children ride as passengers with a parent
Frequently asked questions
Is quad riding in the dunes dangerous?
With a guide, a briefing and the right speed, it is a safe activity for beginners. Most problems come from riding too fast, so your guide sets the pace.
Is there a minimum age?
Children can ride as passengers with a parent. Tell us their ages so we bring the right helmet sizes.
Do I need travel insurance?
We recommend travel insurance that covers adventure activities.
