Good to know

Erg Chebbi is one of only two large sand seas in Morocco, and its dunes rise up to 150 metres, according to Atlas Obscura. That height gives you a wide view over the desert.

Plan around the heat. AAA notes that from June to September, midday temperatures in Merzouga often reach about 46°C. In summer, we run rides early in the morning or late in the afternoon.

“Expect to be mesmerised by the towering sand dunes of Erg Chebbi, with opportunities for camel treks, quad biking, and sandboarding.”
